✨ Day 64: From Kitchen Table to My New Office (in Just Nine Days!)
If you had told me a few weeks ago that I’d be writing this from my very own office — not the kitchen table, not the corner of the counter, not squeezed between a frying pan and a stack of notebooks — I’m not sure I would have believed you. But here we are. Day 64, and I’ve officially moved into my first dedicated workspace… in only nine days.
Nine days.
That’s all it took for something in my business to shift from “someday” to “right now.”
When I recorded my first YouTube video on Day 55, I publicly set a goal:
45 days to get out of the kitchen and into an office.
It felt like a fair, generous timeline — especially with everything else happening behind the scenes: creating my business plan, mapping my cash flow, shaping my long-term strategy, and stepping into content creation for the very first time.
But then something small — and powerful — happened.
My accountability buddy, who is currently in medical school learning how to assist with organ transplants (yes… actual transplants), gently reminded me that if she can show up exhausted and still do her work, I can certainly record a tiny progress video and take one more step forward. That moment of perspective changed everything.
So even though I was tired… even though the move felt daunting… even though I only had a sliver of energy left… I carved out a little corner, set up my camera, and captured the moment I stepped into my very first office space.
It’s not perfect.
It’s not finished.
But it’s mine — and it represents momentum, commitment, and the belief that this business is becoming something real, something grounded, something I’m proud to build in the open.
And of course, in true NLB fashion, the story doesn’t stop there. I gave myself two months to design and build my business website from scratch — and guess what?
Mission accomplished.
(You can still see the early version at www.balanceandbloomprofessional.ca before the rebrand to NLB Professional Services.)
These little milestones — these “I didn’t think I could, but I did anyway” moments — are exactly why I’m documenting this journey. Not because the path is linear or flawless, but because it’s human, encouraging, and worth sharing step by step.
Thank you for being here on Day 64.
Thank you for celebrating the wins — big and small — with me.
And thank you for believing in what this can become, right alongside me.
Here’s to the next chapter. And the next office.
One day, one video, one tiny brave moment at a time. 💛✨
